New NYC Mayoral Poll Shows Andrew Cuomo in the Driver's Seat

A new Marist survey shows the ex-governor is maintaining a strong lead, though his challengers could topple him—if their supporters are encouraged to fill up their ballots.

Despite committing a litany of unforced campaign errors and barely speaking with the New Yorkers he is seeking to govern, Andrew Cuomo is maintaining his commanding polling lead in the Democratic mayoral primary, with just one month to go before early voting begins.

According to a Marist poll released on Tuesday night that surveyed 3,383 likely Democratic primary voters over the first week of May, Cuomo is the first choice of 37 percent of voters, followed by Zohran Mamdani at 18 percent, Adrienne Adams at 9 percent, and Brad Lander at 8 percent.
