On Wednesday morning, around 1,700 New Yorkers converged on the state's snow-dusted capital with one demand for New York's lawmakers: tax the rich.
But absent, and not often mentioned, was Mayor Zohran Mamdani, the person who was most responsible for the rally happening in the first place, and who made "tax the rich" one of his winning campaign catch phrases and the answer to paying for his ambitious agenda chock full of expensive social programs.
