Noname's SummerStage Show Is Canceled, One Week After Kehlani's

Noname's Juneteenth show was canceled days after the Adams administration applied pressure to stop Kehlani's SummerStage show in Central Park.

Chicago rapper Noname's Juneteenth show at SummerStage in Central Park has been cancelled. The cancellation comes one week after New York City officials pressured the nonprofit that runs SummerStage into cancelling a Kehlani show for questionable "security concerns."

The Noname show on June 18 was set to feature support from R&B singers Ravyn Lenae and Fana Hues. We reached out to Noname's representatives for comment, and will update this post if they respond. City Parks Foundation, the nonprofit that organizes the SummerStage shows, said they did not book the Noname performance. Heather Lubov, the foundation's executive director, told Hell Gate that "this was a show that was organized by LiveNation, and the cancellation is between the artist and LiveNation."
