Governor Kathy Hochul would like just a little more time to watch the world burn.
On Friday, Hochul finally revealed how she is going to comply with the New York law that requires the state to significantly transition away from fossil fuels by 2030: She wants to change the law to push back the deadline.
In an op-ed published in the noted climate journal, uh, Empire Report, Hochul said that while she remains committed to enforcing 2019's Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act, "so much has radically changed since the Climate Act was enacted, necessitating common-sense adjustments that keep us on our path to a greener future in a way that is affordable for New Yorkers."
