Let the Pierogi Boys Warm Your Soul With Polish Comfort Food Classics

Yup, Ridgewood has another ridiculously charming corner cafe just in time for the frigid weather.

When Krzysztof Poluchowicz (who goes by Chris) and Andrzej Kińczyk (please, call him Andrew), first moved from Poland to Ridgewood some 20 years ago, one of the most frequent questions they got from their new friends was: "Where can we eat good pierogi around here?"

To which, as Kińczyk recalled to Hell Gate, "I was always like, 'uhhh... let us just make them for you.'" And so they would, at wine-soaked pierogi parties in their apartment, which led to the couple getting tagged with the obvious nickname, Pierogi Boys. "We're not trained chefs or anything like that," Kińczyk continued, "but we are very proud of our national dish."
