Eric Adams is now officially Albanian. 

Yes, after hosting a few dazzling Albanian heritage events at City Hall and visiting the country during his final few months in office, the former mayor of New York City was proclaimed a citizen of Albania earlier this month by its prime minister. 

The website euronews.Albania broke the story on Friday morning:

Former New York City mayor Eric Adams has been granted Albanian citizenship and has received an Albanian passport. The decision was formalized through a special decree signed by the President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj.
