Don't Ask Andrew Cuomo Questions Like 'Can You Dance'?

He might think you're trying to go on a date with him.

Andrew Cuomo has cruised to the top of the polls in the mayoral race, in part thanks to a strategy that limits exposure to the press and the public as much as possible.

This is wise. Even by his own admission, Andrew Cuomo sometimes has trouble with identifying and respecting personal boundaries—"making people uncomfortable" was how he once put it. In the report that led to Cuomo's resignation, the attorney general put it a little differently: "The Governor sexually harassed a number of current and former New York State employees by, among other things, engaging in unwelcome and nonconsensual touching, as well as making numerous offensive comments of a suggestive and sexual nature that created a hostile work environment for women."

Cuomo was never charged with a crime, has trashed the AG's report, and now he is running for mayor. A future mayor has to give interviews in public sometimes. So far they've mostly been limited to choreographed media hits with friendly news outlets (the exception being the New York Post). On Friday, his appearance on the Spanish-language radio station Mega 97.9's morning show was looking like one of those uneventful, unremarkable media hits—until he repeatedly asked a host of the show, who was seated next to him, out on a date.
