Head to Woodside for the Best (Only?) Bhutanese Feast in Town

The Weekender will smother you in green chilis, perfect with cheap beer and a game of snooker.

I loved Zhego, a tiny, vibrant Bhutanese restaurant in Woodside that opened in early 2023. At the time, Sonam Tshering Singye, one of the co-owners, called it the city's "second Bhutanese restaurant currently operating," and I've been angling for an opportunity to go back ever since.

Unfortunately for me and everyone else who likes to eat good food, Zhego has been "temporarily closed" or at least a year now. So finally, I was just like, fuck it, let's go to the first—and currently only—Bhutanese restaurant in town, The Weekender, which had been sending out cheese-sodden ema datsi and jerky-like meats in Woodside since back in 2014.
