Adult Lap Swim Is Back—Three Days a Week

For the first time in six years, New Yorkers will be able to swim laps unencumbered in New York City's Olympic-sized pools.

New York City pools are back tomorrow—and so is Adult Lap Swim!

Update (11:26 p.m.): Actually, according to a schedule posted by the Parks Department this evening, adult lap swim starts July 7.)

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the City eliminated early nird and night owl hours at New York City pools. These precious hours, from 7 to 8:30 a.m. and 7 to 8:30 p.m., respectively, allowed adults to exercise without children clogging up the lanes (children, by the way, run the show the rest of the day).

Now, in the fourth year of the Adams administration, the Parks Department told Hell Gate that New York City's adults will get their beloved lanes back, for at least three days a week.
