On Monday afternoon, Mayor Zohran Mamdani tried to secure fresh commitments from President Donald Trump by using something the president evidently loves very much but can't have: Gracie Mansion.
"I've been at Gracie Mansion, we were discussing, quite a few times over the years, and it sort of feels like a home, and it's a special place, a very special, a beautiful place when you go inside," Trump told the press wistfully.
"And I've seen it with numerous different mayors, and I said some great ones and some not-so-great ones. So hopefully, you're going to be a great one," he continued, smiling at Mamdani.
