In the midst of win after win after win, it's easy to forget the actual dilemma that has occupied most of Mayor Zohran Mamdani's first six months in office: passing a City budget after inheriting a massive fiscal deficit.
That budget is due tomorrow, and thanks to billions in aid from the state and a new pied-à-terre tax, both of which Mamdani was able to secure from Albany, cuts to City services are no longer on the table. This year's budget also reportedly includes millions more for libraries and early education.
So what's the holdup?
