Former governor Andrew Cuomo mayoral bid has raised a lot of money, fast. His campaign account has an estimated $1.2 million on hand, with millions more in matching funds from the City forthcoming (he's not quite there yet). Actor Michael Imperioli, director Darren Aronofsky, and various Republicans have all chipped in. A super PAC created to get him elected, Fix The City, Inc., has raised a total of $4.9 million, thanks to big donations from various billionaires (some of whom also donated to Donald Trump) and also Cuomo's pal Billy Joel, who kicked in $50,000.
But one previously unreported-on donor to Cuomo's mayoral campaign might stick out to people who are familiar with a certain now-deceased financier, Jeffrey Epstein. A search of the New York City Campaign Finance Board's records shows that Glenn Dubin, current principal of Dubin & Co. LP and founder of the hedge fund Highbridge Capital Management, donated the maximum of $2,100 to Cuomo's 2025 mayoral campaign on March 11, 2025, 10 days after the former governor first announced his candidacy.
Nine days after contributing to Cuomo's personal campaign, records show that Dubin donated $25,000 to Fix The City. Unlike campaign accounts, super PACs may accept an unlimited amount of cash from donors who can give as much as they want, so long as they don't coordinate with the campaign itself.
Dubin's donations raise questions about whether Cuomo and his campaign team have qualms about accepting money from donors who keep dubious company.
