We've spent a lot of time covering Mayor Eric Adams's proclivity for popping up in unexpected places, rattling off one liners, and doing inexplicable things—Hizzoner is nothing if not kind of random. Searching for drugs in a popular knapsack? Sure. Flying to Albania to "promote economic activity and tourism to New York City"? Totally. His ardent belief in the healing and energizing power of rare stones? Business as usual. As far as we know, the mayor doesn't actually have any opinions about aquatic farming, or bird-capturing contraptions, or the best way to discreetly change from shorts into pants—but thanks to one slop content Michaelangelo, we live in a world where we can at least pretend that he does.
Cincinnati-based TikToker Prognoz Pogodi (a pseudonym he uses for privacy reasons which means "weather report" in Russian, per Google translate, although he confirmed "lol I'm not Russian") said Mayor Adams makes an amazing subject for his specific strain of Chinese social media-inspired video collages, which feature the mayor—along with other real-life figures like gameshow host Steve Harvey, OJ Simpson, Red Scare cohosts Dasha Nekrasova and Anna Khachiyan, and philosopher Slavoj Žižek—"reading" from translated scripts using an AI-generated voiceover that mimics Adams's vocal tics, like his speaking cadence and inflection tendencies.
