Nothing says "international city of spirited bilateral debate" like a furious driver screaming down a pedestrian walkway while flipping the bird.
On Tuesday, Nat Esten was running along the New Wave Pier, just shy of UN Headquarters, when he heard someone laying on their horn.
"I heard someone honking, I didn't really glance around because my first thought is, there aren't cars here," Esten told Hell Gate, referring to the pedestrian-only sliver of walkway on the East River.
"I turned around and there was a guy walking his dog on the walkway, and this driver was honking at him to get out of the way."
