Earlier this week, a poll by a super PAC formed to support Dan Goldman's reelection campaign had some alarming news for the congressmember—he continues to trail former Comptroller Brad Lander in the NY-10 congressional race.

The poll also suggests that Goldman, an heir of the Levi Strauss denim fortune and a centrist Democrat who has lately attempted to paint himself as a progressive champion, might have an uphill battle. Lander's favorability ratings are high (a full 20 percentage points over Goldman's), and, in what must be extremely galling news for Goldman, the Democratic Socialists of America are more popular in his district than he is. Another trouble spot for the congressmember? The Democratic voters polled for the survey are not exactly fans of AIPAC, whose donors continue to shower his reelection campaign with cash, according to the latest FEC data.

That poll had a bit of advice for Goldman: Go negative.
