Brooklyn Museum Workers Rally Against Cuts: 'This Is Classic Union Busting'

Hundreds of workers and their supporters protested the firings of 47 workers.

Who or what's to blame for the $10 million budget gap of the 200-year-old flagship cultural institution in the most populous borough of the world's richest city?

That was the question on the minds of soon-to-be fired workers, their supporters, and local politicians as over a hundred people rallied outside of the Brooklyn Museum on Tuesday night in an effort to stave off firings, three weeks after the museum's leadership announced it would be eliminating 47 jobs in the face of a $10 million deficit. Hell Gate reported last week that the museum has also canceled its popular First Saturdays program until at least May.
