Outdoor pools in New York City will open tomorrow, signaling the official start of summer in the city. And this year, Adult Lap Swim will also return—bigger and better than any year since 2019, when the pandemic, a lifeguard-shortage, and Adams-era cuts either severely curtailed the hours of the beloved, decades-old institution, or canceled it completely.
In an exclusive, the Parks Department has confirmed to Hell Gate that Adult Lap Swim will return every weekday morning from 7 to 8:30 a.m., at two pools in each borough.
