Totally cashed, bro.
That was the story for New York City's stoners on this 4/20, as the city's weed-lovers attempted to celebrate in local parks and were for the most part stymied by the buzz-killing arm of the law.
The harshing of the vibe began as early as 7:30 this morning when the NYPD set up a cordon surrounding Washington Square Park, only allowing people to enter or exit the public space through a single entrance on Fifth Avenue, where they were subjected to a bag check. The NYPD also cleared out unlicensed weed vendors, who perennially mark the occasion in the park with giant clouds of smoke wafting over its iconic fountain.
