State of the Race in 30 Seconds
Zohran Mamdani is seriously cutting into Andrew Cuomo's lead, according to two polls released on Monday night. The first poll, conducted by Data for Progress and paid for by a pro-Mamdani super PAC, shows Cuomo winning by just two points after eight rounds of counting. The second poll, conducted by Cuomo's campaign, shows the ex-governor winning by 12 points. All of the other candidates are lagging far behind in both polls.
Cuomo's camp has been trying to discredit the Data for Progress poll, despite the group pretty much nailing the 2021 mayoral primary results.
For candidates not named Cuomo or Mamdani, the second and final televised debate at 7 p.m. on Thursday night, which will be aired on NY1 and livestreamed for free, may be their last hope to break through to New Yorkers who haven't made up their minds.

Mamdani's NYPD
Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch and Mayor Eric Adams told New Yorkers yesterday that the NYPD would continue to clear the path for Donald Trump's deportation machine, by arresting the protesters who put their bodies in front of the ICE vehicles transporting immigrants after they're kidnapped by masked federal agents.
At a press conference Mamdani held earlier today on how he'd respond to the Trump administration as mayor, Hell Gate asked him what he would tell his NYPD in this situation—would he have the NYPD clear sidewalks and roads so ICE could carry out Trump's orders?
