The Knicks Are Truly the Team of New Yorkers*

*With $2,000 to $36,000 in disposable income.

The New York Knickerbockers had an eventful summer after winning the 2025-2026 NBA championship for the first time in a half-century. There was a parade to ride in, other sports events to attend, a bad comedy show to host, even a wedding to hold.

And you? What were you up to this summer, between screaming "KNICKS IN FIVE!" at random strangers on the train platform, united in glory for one special era? Oh, what's that? Working three jobs so you could afford tickets to see their triumphant return to Madison Square Garden tonight? Hope that worked out great for you, because right now tickets to see their season opener against the Philadelphia 76ers—newly stacked with Jaylen Brown and LeBron James—are going for somewhere between "one month in a rent-stabilized apartment in outer Brooklyn" and "a one-month sublet in Jennifer Lawrence's TriBeCa apartment."
