It's Wednesday, you deserve a treat, like an episode of the Hell Gate Podcast! Listen here, or wherever you get your podcasts. And don't worry, there WILL be a fresh episode on Friday.
Note: We'll be taking Thursday and Friday off. Happy Thanksgiving and see you on Monday!
Mayor Eric Adams is barely in New York City anymore.
After a whirlwind few weeks that took him to Albania, Israel, and Uzbekistan (??!!), Adams briefly showed up in the city on Monday to celebrate Gotham FC, before he once again leaves the city next week to head to New Orleans, where he'll be honored by a group that already honored him earlier this month while he was in Israel. (Though good for him, we would never fault anyone for using an excuse to go to New Orleans, the second-best city in the country.)
In his place, former Giuliani hack and First Deputy Mayor Randy Mastro has been running the city, And run it, he has! From prioritizing killing affordable housing to…also killing affordable housing, Mastro appears to be deadset on making life harder for New York's tenants, and is now apparently gearing up for his greatest act of all.
