In early January, a video surfaced on Reddit of former Mayor Eric Adams getting into a shouting match with a person as they both deplaned at the Dallas airport. In the video, Adams's antagonist claims that the former mayor threatened to punch them in the face. Though that threat isn't captured in the video, Adams is heard saying "I'm not the mayor anymore, go fuck yourself," and the instant classic, "You're gonna see the Brooklyn in me."
The person who Adams was threatening to show that Brooklyn to was Nico Fish, a 29-year-old copywriter who's lived in Brooklyn for eight years. Fish says the altercation began when they flipped the former mayor off. (Hell Gate has reached out to Eric Adams's spokesperson, and will update this story if he chooses to respond.)
