On Friday, October 24, we'll be sitting down with Mamdani in front of a live audience at the Museum of the Moving Image. Have a question you want us to ask him? Hit us up at tips@hellgatenyc.com.

STATE OF THE RACE IN 30 SECONDS
We have just two weeks before Election Day, and with one debate in the bag and another on Wednesday, Zohran Mamdani still holds a double-digit lead over Andrew Cuomo and Curtis Sliwa, according to this week's only new poll (so far). But Mamdani's lead over Cuomo shrinks to less than 5 percent if something seemingly impossible were to happen—Sliwa dropping out. Team Cuomo is amped about this possibility, but good luck with that (see below). Then there's this issue with the poll itself: The AARP and Gotham Polling and Analytics used 2021 general election data to model the demographics of likely voters, but tens of thousands of new voters (the vast majority of them under 30) were added to the rolls during the primary. Still, hope (or delusion) reigns eternal: Several million dollars have flowed into Cuomo-aligned super PACs in recent days. Meanwhile, Mamdani is unbothered, burning through the $6 million he had in his campaign account at the end of September and hosting soccer tournaments and what promises to be a massive rally this Sunday in Forest Hills with Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
