Governor Kathy Hochul, who leads comfortably in the polls for her reelection bid, and whose approval ratings are higher than ever, should have been riding high this week in advance of Friday's state Democratic Party nominating convention. Mayor Zohran Mamdani endorsed her this morning; Attorney General Letitia James is backing her campaign; and on Wednesday, Hochul announced that former City Council Speaker Adrienne Adams would be her running mate in this year's election, the first time in the state's history that a party ticket is led by all women.
But cue the Brooklyn Democratic Party and its chair, Assemblymember Rodneyse Bichotte Hermelyn, to do what they do best: sow chaos and confusion and create perplexing drama, all in the service of, well—nobody really knows!
