On Wednesday, unionized workers at two Alamo Drafthouse locations in New York City announced that they had partially beaten back an effort by management to do away with the company's longstanding "no phones" policy, and instead replace it with a "you must use your phone if you want to eat" one. While the company's new mobile ordering system will remain, Alamo Drafthouse is now bringing back its pen-and-paper system as an option for customers at the two unionized theaters in New York City who prefer the old ways. (And from all indications, it looks like that's most people.)
