Snow is blanketing the city streets. And the streets beneath are fast asleep.

The great blizzard of 2026 has mostly blown past us by now. In its wake, it has left almost two feet of snow in parts of the city, and created a Winter Wonderland on this blessed school snow day (before it all turns to slush and ice and we end up hating it tomorrow).

But for now, it's a testament to nature's fury and a thing of absolute beauty. Hell Gate sent photographer John Taggart across Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens from Sunday night through Monday afternoon, to catch the whiteout conditions, the fallen trees, the cursing commuters, and the general glee of snow oh-whoa-oh-whoa-oh-whoaaaaaa.
